A big thank you to the Office of Emergency Management, Police, Fire, EMS, Health, Public Works, Recreation, and the Shade Tree Division for their outstanding teamwork and quick action during this past weekend’s windstorm. Together, these departments worked tirelessly to minimize disruption and ensure the safety of Trenton residents. Here’s how the City responded to the storm:

  • Trenton EMS:
    • 197+ calls between Saturday 6 a.m. & Monday 6 p.m.
    • Responded to all emergencies swiftly, prioritizing public safety.
  • Trenton Fire Department:
    • 5 storm-related calls + 190+ non-storm calls.
    • No injuries or weather-related accidents.
  • Office of Emergency Management (OEM):
    • Provided constant weather updates & advisories throughout the storm.
  • Department of Health & Human Services:
    • Opened Warming Shelter at Sam Naples Senior Center, 611 Chestnut Ave.
    • The Shelter will open daily 4-9 p.m. through February 20, 2025.
  • Shade Tree Division:
    • Responded to 19 fallen tree service calls.
    • Removed tree on Stuyvesant Ave., restoring power to 900 residents after 18-hour outage.
  • Public Works & Recreation:
    • Cleared 26 parks, collecting debris that filled 7 trailers.
    • Teams worked tirelessly to ensure safe, clear public spaces.
  • Teamwork with PSE&G:
    • Collaborated closely to restore power and keep residents safe.
  • Communication:
    • Kept residents informed via social media & robo texts on storm impacts & city response.
