The Ernie Kovacs Centennial: 1919-2019 will be hosted by the NJ Motion Picture & Television Commission. They describe their event in the following manner.

Known for his quirky humor and visually experimental comedic style, Ernie Kovacs left an indelible mark on Trenton, NJ before making it big in Hollywood. His pioneering comedic spirit influenced generations of comedic artists including Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, and Andy Kaufman, and laid the groundwork for the creation of several franchises, including Saturday Night Live, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse and The Muppet Show.
Join us and special guests Secretary of State Tahesha Way, Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, comedian Joel Hodgson and Kovacs estate representatives for a tribute recognizing the life and legacy of Ernie Kovacs in honor of his 100th birthday. The agenda also includes a video presentation.
Presented by the NJ Department of State, NJ Motion Picture and Television Commission, the City of Trenton and the Ernie Kovacs estate.
