The Trent House Association will host Reading & Adventure/Lectura y Aventura, a Saturday series of book reading and storytelling, arts and crafts, and outdoor games on August 3, August 10, and August 17 at the William Trent House Museum. Organized in collaboration with the Trenton Free Public Library, the series will include local children’s book authors and participating children will receive a free book. The Museum is located at 15 Market Street in Trenton, across from the Hughes Justice Complex. Free parking and the museum entrance are at the rear of the property off William Trent Place.
Books written and read by local authors will be featured. On August 10th Rashad Malik Davis will read from the “Carefree, Like Me!” series he has both authored and illustrated. On August 17th two bilingual books will be read in both English and Spanish by their authors – “Yo Soy, I Am” by Jacquelyn Leon and “It’s All About You!: ¡Es todo acerca de usted!” by Corey Laramore. On August 3rd Denise McCormack will tell stories from around the world and children will receive a companion book. Arts and crafts activities will be based on the themes of the day’s stories. Snacks and drinks will be provided, but participating children are asked to bring their own lunches.
The program is free for children between the ages of 6 and 11, but space is limited with registration required at https://tinyurl.com/Reading-Adventure.
