The game of chess is coming to Trenton as the Capital Area YMCA hosts the first-ever Chess Fest event on Saturday, October 20th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at  its 431 Pennington Avenue location.

All kids from Kindergarten to 12th grade are invited to come play against New Jersey chess masters and experts for free. This event will put your brain power to the test as youth play, learn, and participate on the game of chess.

The event will feature trophies for competitors along with free chess sets and t-shirts for the first 100 youngsters who register. Lunch and refreshments will also be served these young participants.

Chess Fest is sponsored by the New Jersey State Chess Federation, Mercer Council on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction, Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, and Thrivent Financial.
