The City of Trenton Department of Recreation will be hosting field trips for local youth from April 21 to 25, 2025, during Trenton Public Schools Spring Break week.
A total of 85 students signed up to participate in trips to Altitude Trampoline Park on Monday, Medieval Times on Tuesday, a NY Double Decker Bus tour and Dave & Busters on Wednesday, Liberty Science Center on Thursday, and Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park at American Dream Mall on Friday.
“Spring Break is all about adventure — and this year we’re thrilled to provide our students with the opportunity to explore beyond the City,” said Mayor W. Reed Gusciora. “These trips can open their eyes to new possibilities — give them the chance to see new places, try new things, and just enjoy being kids.”
Altitude Trampoline Park offers 35,000 square feet of indoor jumping space, with games and activities like ultimate dodgeball, trampoline basketball, and a giant foam pit.
Medieval Times is described as a unique entertainment experience featuring “heroic knights on spirited horses” and “thrilling swordplay”. Attendees enjoy a “hands-on” feast while the performance unfolds.
The Double Decker bus tour will take the kids on a tour of New York City before they head to Dave and Buster’s (D&B). D&B hosts over 100 different arcade, tabletop, and virtual reality games for children and adults.
Liberty Science Center is a 300,000-square-foot learning featuring 12 museum exhibition halls, a live animal collection with 110 species, giant aquariums, a 3D theater, live simulcast surgeries, hurricane- and tornado-force wind simulators, K-12 classrooms and labs, teacher-development programs, and the Western Hemisphere’s biggest planetarium—the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater.
Nickelodeon Theme Park is the largest indoor theme park in the United States and includes virtual reality rides, roller coasters, Nickelodeon character appearances, Ferris Wheels, and more.
“Unfortunately, we have some kids who may have never left the city,” said Interim Recreation Director Paul Harris. “It is our goal to ensure our children get a chance to make lifelong memories and experience new things.”
