First time homebuyers come from all ages and stages of life. Whether you’re a young, newly married couple looking to lay down your roots, or a hardworking individual who’s been saving for years to buy your first home, this milestone is a major marker in the lives of millions of Americans. Especially for younger prospective buyers, who emerged on the scene with a less than hospitable market, buying a house can seem like a daunting or outright impossible task. However, despite these fears, prospective homebuyers can take hope, as there are dozens of resources and helping hands to get you through each phase of the process. To learn more about the exciting journey ahead, you are invited to join Isles for another installment of their first time homebuyer seminar.
On Saturday, July 15th, all are welcome to join Isles for a first time homebuyer’s workshop, which will walk prospective buyers through the beginning to end process of acquiring a home. The event will kick off at 8:45am at Isles’ Tucker St. facility, located at 33 Tucker Street, Trenton, NJ 08618. This is an all-day class that will conclude at 4pm. Advanced registration is $50 for individuals and $75 for couples. Workshop materials, lunch, snacks, coffee and tea will be provided. If for any reason needs to be rescheduled (i.e., weather event, emergency, etc.), you will be contacted accordingly.
If you or a loved one plans on attending, you can register online by visiting the link here: Register – First Time Homebuyers. Please note that in order to receive the certification, attendees must complete the entirety of the seminar. Isles is a HUD-certified housing counseling aging. If you have any questions or would like any assistance with registration, please contact Isles at 609.341.4714 or homehelp@isles.org for additional details.
Over the course of the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to hear about some of the most critical aspects of purchasing and owning a home, including:
- What are the financial reasons to buy a home?
- How much mortgage can I afford? Will I qualify?
- What role does a realtor play? A lender? An inspector?
Guests will also have the opportunity to learn about a number of financial assistance programs, including municipal, county, state, and lender-based initiatives, that can help further lessen the burden of purchasing a home.
If you’ve already started the process of buying a home, you may have heard murmurings about first time homebuyers seminars. But aside from useful knowledge, what is the benefit of taking one of these classes? As it turns out, a day of your time can yield years of savings. For many assistance programs, including affordable housing, first time homebuyer mortgage programs, etc., prospective buyers will need to be able to produce a certificate confirming that a first time homebuyer seminar was attended. If you’re a first-time buyer and haven’t yet received your certificate, you and your family might be missing out on some serious savings. An all-day class might sound like a commitment, but it pails in comparison to the benefits you’ll reap in the years to come.
From “where to start” to “welcome home”, this workshop has your covered with all the questions you may have. Your dream home awaits you and your family, so don’t hesitate to take the first steps towards homeownership today!
