The purchase of a home represents far more than just a roof over our heads. From the memories made with family and loved ones to the rest and relief found after a long day on the job, our homes offer us a safe haven from the chaos and busyness of the world around us. Our homes become a part of us, setting the backdrop for some of our most cherished memories. While purchasing a house may appear a daunting task on paper, with the right resources and strategies in place, you’ll find that acquiring a home of your own can be an educational and rewarding experience. As first-time homebuyers, you may have questions about how to get started. Now, Isles is here to help you answer them at this weekend’s First Time Homebuyers Workshop.

When embarking on the journey of purchasing a house, there are many factors and steps one must take into consideration before the deed is signed. From securing financing to managing closing costs and more, purchasing a home is a more involved process than what might meet the eye. As a first-time homebuyer, receiving pre-purchase counseling and education is a wonderful way to stay informed and take advantage of the numerous resources available to first-time buyers. Throughout the afternoon, the workshop will cover a number of fundamental topics, including:

  • What are the financial reasons to buy a home?
  • How much mortgage can I afford? Will I qualify?
  • What role does a realtor play? A lender? An inspector?

The upcoming workshop will address all these questions and more. Isles offers a number of first-time homebuyer workshops throughout the year, in both English and Spanish, to help Trentonians and residents of the surrounding areas achieve their dreams of owner a home. The workshops are structured to be accessible and informative to those at all stages of the homeownership process. If you have an impairment, disability, language barrier, or otherwise require an alternative means of accessing information about housing counseling services, please contact Isles regarding arranging alternative accommodations.
