#IAMTHECHANGE SCHOLARSHIPS are currently available through the Smith Family Foundation. The organization describes this scholarship opportunity in the following manner.
The Smith Family Foundation of New Jersey is committed to supporting Higher Education as a normal next step for Trenton and East Orange, NJ youth for the academic year of 2019-2020.
The staff and trustees of the Smith Family Foundation NJ welcomes applications from high school seniors from Trenton and East Orange, NJ who are determined to be the change they want to see in their communities.
Successful applicants will be making the transition into a 2- or 4-year college or university (2019-2020), have performed a minimum of 10 hours of community service and agree to volunteer at our Welcome Home College Event May 2020.
As part of our campaign to encourage high school graduates to view higher education as a normal next step, we are excited to offer three types of scholarships to graduates from the city of Trenton.
#IAMTHECHANGE Scholarship Opportunities
1. IEP Scholarship: Applicants must have an active IEP, a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have completed 10 hours of community service. Awardees will receive a total of $5,000 and a College Care Package for both semesters.
2. Christian Ministry Scholarship: Applicants must be involved in the ministry of their local church congregation, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, and have completed 10 hours of community service. Awardees will receive a total of $5,000 a College Care Package for both semesters. (Trenton Only)
3. Book Scholarship: Applicants seeking a book scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Awardees will receive $500 for the Fall Semester ONLY and a College Care Package for both semesters.
