Originally scheduled for March 14, 2020, Visions of a starry night sky, has been rescheduled to September 12, 2020 at Patriots Theater at War Memorial. The show will feature a ballroom concert with “A Little Night Music” as The Capital Philharmonic presents Vivaldi’s timeless “Four Seasons.” For fun, they have also programmed four months of the year from Tchaikovsky’s “Seasons,” to compare his interpretations over 150 years later.
The guest artist this evening is the young Italian violinist Lorenzo Mazzamuto. Born in Catania, Lorenzo graduated Summa cum laude from the Vincenzo Bellini Musical Institute of Catania, and made his solo debut with orchestra at age 11 performing a Vivaldi Concerto. Recently, he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory “P. I. Tchaikovsky” with the highest scores in the class of the “Great Artist of the People” Sergey Girshenko.
Lorenzo has played for many important theatres and concert associations in Italy, Europe, Russia and the U.S.A., including solo appearances with the Ploesti Symphony Orchestra, Kiev’s Camerata, the Russian Chamber Orchestra and many more. Most impressively, he has taken part in over 25 national and international musical competitions, obtaining in all, first prize. You need to hear this incredibly talented future star. A festive reception with wine and light snacks on the Patriots Theater stage follows the performance.
