Spring in bloom at the Old Barracks is a sight unlike any other. Blossoming flowers and trees buzzing with seasonal signs help bring life to this historic site. If you’re ready for spring cleaning and want to help prepare the Old Barracks for the coming season, volunteers are needed for this year’s installment of Park Day.

On Saturday, April 15th, you are invited to the Old Barracks for a day of spring cleaning fun. The day will kick off at 9 am at the Barracks campus, 101 Barrack St, Trenton, NJ 08608. Volunteers ages 12 and older are welcome to grab a rake, roll their sleeves, and help the Old Barracks prepare for their next season of exciting programming. There is a specific need for volunteers who may be able to offer the use of a truck, as well as volunteers who can lift heavier loads such as logs. If you want to participate in this productive afternoon, registration is available here: Register – Old Barracks.

This event will be held from 9 am to 1 pm, and guests are invited to stay for part or all of the day’s proceedings. Attendees are asked to bring their rakes, gloves, gardening supplies, etc., while the Old Barracks will provide coffee and doughnuts for their hard-working volunteers. During Park Day, the Old Barracks will be closed to the public, giving volunteers a behind-the-scenes look at one of Trenton’s most famous tourist attractions. As an extra special thank you for your time, attendees of this event will also have the opportunity to enjoy a private tour of the Barracks following the event. You can confirm on the registration form linked above if you wish to attend the time.
