This hotline empowers New Jersey residents to contact a trained mental health professional to get individuals connected to the services and support they need. Services are available seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm; once in contact, the hotline will connect you with a behavioral science professional to conduct a completely anonymous mental health screening. Once the screening has been completed, you will be provided with customized feedback and a zip code-specific list of referrals so that you and your healthcare provider can connect with appropriate mental health services. Another huge factor in improving mental health is access to a network of support systems, much like the one available at the Trenton Public Library’s Community Coffee-Table Conversations. This once-per-month event, hosted by the Trenton Public Library in collaboration with the Trenton Community Street Teams, allows members of the Trenton community to come together and have essential conversations regarding mental health. Corey Ingram, MBA, MS, LCABC, will facilitate these conversations. All residents ages 18 and older are welcome to come to the table for an evening of discussion. Refreshments will be provided at each of the monthly meet-ups. The Trenton Community Street Teams play an integral role in violence prevention in the city and continuously strive to disrupt the cycle of violence in our communities.
