On Thursday, October 24th, Millhill Child & Family Development celebrated their annual Fall Story Festival. Throughout the afternoon, dozens of MillHill Pre-K students donned their very best costumes for a trunk or treat experience like no other. To help bring this event to life, Millhill was joined by community partners including DCP&P, Trenton Public Library, Trenton Housing Authority, the Trenton Police Department, Creative Ways and dedicated Millhill staff, parents of Pre-K students, and volunteers who helped to enhance the experience with elaborately decorated trunks. Each car was decorated to the theme of a beloved children’s story, offering kiddos the chance to enjoy a brand-new way of experiencing their favorite storybook characters. Guests of note included Mayor Reed Gusciora, Council President Crystal Feliciano, and West Ward Councilwoman Teska Frisby. A delight for all in attendance, the Fall Story Festival was a wonderful way to come together as a community and celebrate the fall season!

Far more than just a chance to collect candy, the afternoon’s events were an inspirational catalyst for conversation and community. From newly forged connections between parents and peers to the opportunity to speak one on one with city leadership, it is events like these that help to build solidarity and drive lasting change within our city. While the preschoolers went car to car gathering sweets, grownups had the chance to make memories with their little ones and enjoy an afternoon that was quite the treat for guests of all ages.

For MillHill, community is at the core of all they do. The foundation of trust built between the organization and the community is a testament to the safe, enriching environment offered to all those who walk through the center’s doors. “Fall Fest exemplified Millhill’s commitment to limitless opportunities, built on the foundation of community trust and mutual support”, Said Millhill’s CEO Jigna Rao. And with countless parents and guardians in attendance alongside their little ones, the afternoon’s celebration was a true family affair.

Per Angela McManimon, Director of Development and Communications at Millhill, “On behalf of Millhill, I extend sincere appreciation to our community for making Fall Fest an extraordinary success.”
