Muirhead’s fine specialty foods are produced in Trenton. A mouth-watering array of fruit butters, chutneys, vinaigrettes, mustards and mincemeats are crafted under the direction of Chef Barbara Simpson. Muirhead Foods started from a family restaurant run by Barbara’s parents from a farm in Ringoes. Ed and Doris Simpson began serving five-course gourmet dinners to discerning diners on Friday and Saturday nights in 1974. Today, Muirhead specialty foods are inspired by Barbara’s parents’ original recipes.
Muirhead products can be purchased from Muirhead’s website or at select retail outlets. They enhance meals, salads, baked goods, vegetables, meat and poultry dishes, and add excitement to gourmet dinners. Only the finest quality, wholesome ingredients are used without artificial additives or preservatives.
One of Muirhead’s most popular products, Pecan Pumpkin Butter, won a National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) award. Ripe pumpkin, premium pecans and classic spices give this spread its prize-winning flavor.
