“Giselle” is a romantic ballet which follows the tale of a peasant girl who falls in love with a nobleman disguised as a commoner. Upon hearing the truth regarding her love interest, however, Giselle tragically passes of a broken heart. Audiences will be captivated as the ghost of Giselle schemes and plots her return to her beloved. Composed by Adolphe Adam, this world-renowned composition was first performed in 1841 by the Ballet du Théâtre de l’Académie Royale de Musique at the Salle Le Peletier in Paris. Since the premiere over a century ago, it has captured the hearts of audiences all over the globe, with some of the world’s finest ballet troupes adding their own touch to this exemplary production.
