On Saturday, October 28th, you and your family are invited to join the New Jersey Youth Symphony for their very first performance of the 2023-2024 season. This grand evening will feature performances by the New Jersey Youth Symphony and Youth Orchestra, offering some of our state’s most talented young performers the opportunity to shine. The festivities will begin at 7:00pm at Trenton’s own Patriots Theater at the War Memorial, located at 1 Memorial Dr, Trenton, NJ 08608. With their 45th season promising to be the NJYS’s very best yet, you won’t want to miss the chance to be a part of the opening celebrations.

This performance will feature works by Louise Farrenc, Jennifer Higdon, Giacomo Puccini, Ottorino Respighi, Jean Sibelius, and Dmitri Shostakovich. Performances will be led by Helen H. Cha-Pyo, Conductor for the New Jersey Youth Symphony, and Simon Lipskar, Conductor of the New Jersey Youth Orchestra. If you are interested in attending, tickets can be purchased online here: Tickets – NJYS. Tickets are available at $20 for adults, with $15 available for students and seniors.

The New Jersey Youth Symphony is an opportunity for aspiring musicians in grades 3rd through 12th to hone their music excellence at a young age. As a participating student, members of the NJYS will have the chance to access additional orchestral and jazz music education. Far beyond a musical education program, however, the New Jersey Youth Symphony offers students the chance to connect with peers and gain experience which will serve them far into the future of their musical careers. Once students have successfully auditioned, they’ll have the chance to perform with a number of ensembles, including string orchestras, full symphony orchestras, jazz orchestra, big band, wind, and percussion ensembles.
