A Reading Oasis is a safe, inviting location in a school where families can enjoy reading together, learn how to make reading a habit at home and gain access to books year-round. Every Reading Oasis includes more than 500 new books, beanbag chairs and other kid-friendly furniture; colorful carpet, a listening library, and literacy-themed artwork. UWGMC has been able to create the Reading Oasis through the generous support of the Trenton Thunder to foster student achievement and further youth and family success.

“The Trenton Thunder are excited to team up with United Way and Mott Elementary School to open the Reading Oasis. The Thunder promotes reading through different assemblies within Elementary Schools around the community and this is another way to give students a chance to experience how much fun reading can be,” said Jeff Hurley, COO/General Manager, Trenton Thunder.

United Way of Greater Mercer County connects people with resources propelling individuals and families to reach their fullest potential creating a thriving community. For more information please visit, www.uwgmc.org
