The New Jersey State Council on the Arts will be hosting a Folk Arts Apprenticeship Application and SAGE Workshops information session February 27, 2019 11:00 a.m. – 12: 30 p.m at their headquarters at 33 West State Street, 4th Floor.

This session will go over the Folk Arts Apprenticeship Application. The organization describes the grant in the following way: “Folk Arts Apprenticeship grants encourage communities to continue passing on their valued traditions in traditional settings, by providing stipends so that master folk artists and craftsmen can help apprentices develop greater skill. Since 1995, these grants have supported apprenticeships in many different cultural communities, reflecting the rich array of traditional arts in our state.”

This grant provides $3,500 to enable a young aspiring artist to study as an apprentice under a master artist teaching and showcasing their respective craft.
