The namesake of this book comes from an iconic quote from none other than Geogre Washington, who stated “The Importance of the North River (the Hudson), and the sanguine wishes of all to prevent the enemy from possessing it, have been the causes of this unhappy catastrophe.” An engaging retrospective on New Jersey’s role in the Revolution, this lecture is certain to serve as a roadmap for any New Jerseyan looking to learn more about the priceless relics of history all around us.
