Trenton Curator is seeking interdisciplinary artwork that depicts the capital city, Trenton, in all its glory and complexity for our final open call of the 2022 calendar, “The Town.”
“The Town” will be on display at Trenton Social from December 2nd – January 3rd, 2023. Artists 18 and up, of all levels are invited to submit up to 4, original, 2D pieces in any medium that fit the exhibition’s theme and guidelines. The submission deadline is Friday, October 14th, 2022.
“Trenton, New Jersey. Few places evoke such a diverse array of opinions and emotions. The capital city has garnered fame for its rich historical past, diverse culture, innovations in steal, pottery, and even breakfast meats. Though, Trenton also exists in infamy for its front-page political dramas, absentee landlords, and record crime rates. Having been name-dropped in an endless list of TV shows, movies, and lyrics, the name of our city has been used as an indifferent token for many ideas and opinions.
This call for artwork hopes to take stock of what the creatives in and around our city want to offer as a representation of our community and home. This call is open to all artists living in the tri-state area but preference will be given to artists living or based within Trenton City limits.”
