A cohort of young leaders from Trenton 9th Grade Academy met for the first time in a classroom setting for a program orientation, to get fitted for their lab jackets, and to take a group photo with UIH Family Partners Associate Executive Director, Duncan Harrison.
The group spent time defining and discussing the characteristics of effective leaders. “Our young leaders had an opportunity to share circumstances when they demonstrated personal leadership,” said Calvin Thomas. “It was a productive session to begin our 9-month journey of leadership development.”
As reported on around this time last year, “Renewing the Mind,” founded in April of 2017, was forged out of a powerful story about how life’s most challenging moments have the potential to give birth to the most beautiful dreams. Today, the organization continues to plant seeds of knowledge and wisdom in the minds and spirits of our young leaders.
