The workforce in New Jersey and across the nation is facing widespread shortages reflecting a complex trend in changing demographics, emerging talent requirements, and a shift in expectations between employer and employee. For University Day this year, Thomas Edison State University will launch the Edison Speaker Series, designed to identify discussions that look to the future while taking a deep dive into issues that affect the crossroad between society and higher education.
University Day celebrates the day that Thomas Edison State College became Thomas Edison State University on Dec. 1, 2015. TESU has invited three industry experts to discuss how they are addressing these current challenges as a means to identify talent, drive economic development and create opportunity. These dynamic individuals bring together expertise in advancing quality and equity in education, building transformative workforce development alliances and pioneering partnerships with companies such as IBM and Merck. The event this year will be moderated by Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, TESU president.
