The Big Easy has been serving Trentonians and those either working or frequenting the downtown for the past seven years. The restaurant originally opened at 120 South Warren before moving across the street to their current location at 111 South Warren Street. As patrons enter they will walk into a delightful and relaxing scenery of art and jazz that conjurs up a vision and spirit of New Orleans.

The establishment is renowned for its fried chicken, wings, salmon, fresh vegetables, collared greens, cornbread and so much more all coming in relatively big portions for an affordable price. The establishment also offers an assortment of cake slices and treats to top off the meal.

The Big Easy is operated by Trentonian Olugbala Shababu. Shababu, which is Swahili for “one whom helps others,” positioned the food spot as an integral part of the Trenton community by hosting regular events and also giving back to the community. Shababu along with Jocelyn White from The Big Easy recently donated 20 winter coats to students at Jefferson Elementary School.

The next time you are deciding where to get some really good soul food, head over to The Big Easy at 111 S. Warren Street. It’s open 7 days a week:  Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
