The New Jersey Legislature has designated August as Black Business Month

Black Business Month was founded in 2004 by engineering entrepreneur Frederick E. Jordan and John William Templeton, President/editor/historian of a scholarly publishing company, as an annual celebration of historical and cultural achievement and contributions by Black-owned businesses.

The theme of the Juneteenth event was “Resilience and Hope in New Jersey.”

Summer entertainment in Trenton continues throughout August with:

Concerts on the Landing. August 6th and 13th, from 12 noon to 2pm with live music on the steps of the War Memorial. Seating is available outside. Bring your lunch. In the event of rain, the festivities will be moved inside.

Summer Fridays with Trenton Skate August 8th and August 22nd 5 to 9pm at 675 S Clinton Avenue. See skating tricks. Participate in an open session. Skateboards and helmets are available to borrow.

Run for Fun! Register online at http://www.trenton-downtown.com/event/run-for-fun-2025  to run or walk in Cadwalader Park’s Gully Field (near the corner of Cadwalader Drive and Stuyvesant Avenue) or participate along multiple routes at varied distances’ on paved path or a cross country course. Refreshments and giveaways! Note: Participants under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

6 to 10 pm at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. Trenton will be playing as the “Trenton Pork Roll” against the Williamsport Cross Cutters!
