The Reserve is housed in the former First Trenton National Bank building, a property whose history dates back to the very beginnings of our community’s history. Originally built in 1730, from 1740 to 1742, this property was the residence of Royal Governor Lewis Morris. In 1784, the property was renovated, converting the various chambers of the first floor to one grand, stately room, aptly named the Long Room. Shortly thereafter, this chamber would have the distinct honor to serve as the United States Capitol until December of that year. This location also holds significance as this venue was utilized for New Jersey’s ratification of the United States Constitution.
In 1837, the original property built at 1 West State was demolished, and in its place, the First Mechanics and Manufacturers Bank took the helm. One of Trenton’s architectural gems, this venue boasts towering, Corinthian-style columns, vaulted ceilings, and state-of-the-art lights and sounds, offering the perfect backdrop for any event. A venue that exists at the intersection of modern amenities and historic charms, one can’t help but be captivated by the grandeur and craftsmanship hidden between its walls.
