The Trenton Police Department (TPD) announced it is actively seeking dedicated and talented individuals to join its ranks as law enforcement officers. The TPD is committed to hiring the highest quality officers to build a highly skilled team united in their commitment to the safety and well-being of all persons in the City of Trenton.

The Trenton Police Department is seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age, maximum age of 35.
- Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or a State of New Jersey equivalent certificate.
- Strong employment history preferred.
- Ability to pass the physical fitness agility test and meet minimum agency standards set by the New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC).
- Ability to pass a strict background check that includes criminal and driver history.

The Trenton Police Department offers various incentives to attract qualified candidates, including the option to bypass the New Jersey Civil Service Entry Level Law Enforcement Examination (LEE). Officers will be eligible for paid sick leave, paid vacation days, access to specialty units, and uniform allowances.
Applications will be accepted exclusively through PoliceApp from April 1, 2025, to May 1, 2025. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply within this timeframe. There is no application fee.
