On Saturday, June 3rd, the Trenton Police Department is inviting community members to their Family Extravaganza. This event will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at the TPD’s auxiliary lot, 272 N. Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08609. Throughout the day, guests are invited to take advantage of the resources and tools available to help keep you and your child safe and protected. For example, if you are a parent or a parent-to-be with concerns regarding car seat safety, Community Affairs Detectives will be on-site to provide Car Seat Safety checks to ensure your little one is in the proper equipment. Families are also invited to bring car seats that have yet to be installed, as the TPD will be there to offer a helping hand in assuring proper set-up and installation.
Proper car seat installation is a genuinely lifesaving pursuit. According to the CDC, good car seat use can reduce the risk of injury in children from car crashes by 71% to 82%, compared to just seatbelt use alone. By ensuring your family stays informed on the latest car seat safety guidelines and keeping an eye out for any product recalls, you are giving your little ones the best shot at safety in case of an emergency.
