Although it feels like the summer is just getting started, in a mere matter of weeks, the classroom will once again be abuzz with students eager to learn. Back to school season is meant to be a magical time full of fresh starts and new opportunities. However, for students and families currently facing financial hardship, the return to the classroom can be a costly and uncertain season. No matter who you are or what your life circumstances may look like, every child deserves the opportunity to start off the school year strong. If your child is currently enrolled in Trenton Public Schools and you are in need of supplies ahead of the school year, you are in luck. Now returning for another wonderful year, Trenton Public School District will once again be hosting a Back To School Extravaganza for the 2024 school year.
On Friday, August 30th, you and your family are invited to be a part of this year’s Back To School Extravaganza, where families can find all the resources needed to kick off another wonderful school year. Now returning for its 9th year, the Back To School Extravaganza provides families with the services and supplies needed to thrive for this academic season. Festivities will be held from 10am to 2am in the Trenton Board of Education’s parking lot, located at 108 N. Clinton Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey 08609. Resources and school supplies are available to families while supplies last and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
For the last nine years, the Trenton Public School District has offered the Back To School Extravaganza to meet the diverse needs of the student population it serves. Some of the many resources that may be accessed at this program include:
- Resources from school staff, community, and health agencies
- Mobile health vans to offer free school-mandated immunizations, eye exams, dental, and other health screenings
- Free backpacks filled with school supplies, school uniforms, and much more
