We hope you’re ready to celebrate!

The Trenton Puerto Rican Community and Friends Organization (TPRCFO) announced that they will be hosting their Las Vibras de la Isla cabaret fundraiser on Saturday, November 12th. The event will be hosted at the West Trenton Ballroom from 6 pm to 12 am. Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased here: Eventbrite – Las Vibras de la Isla. Event proceeds will be benefitting educational and cultural programming for the community, as well as the 2023 Trenton Puerto Rican Parade and Festival.

Las Vibras de la Isla, meaning the vibes of the island, is a cabaret-style event celebrating Puerto Rico’s vibrant culture. Guests are invited to bring their own food and beverages, and the TPRCFO will provide the entertainment! Guests will be able to enjoy live entertainment from Jibaro Con Tumbao and DJ Coqui.

Jibaro Con Tumbao is a musical ensemble founded by Miguel Orlando whose purpose is to keep the sound and feel of Caribbean music alive and thriving. Meanwhile, DJ Coqui is a local DJ whose beats will keep the party going all night long.

When asked about the event and what it meant for the organization, Jacquelyn León, 1st Vice President of the TPRCFO, noted “This event is our first official fundraiser toward hosting the 2023 Trenton Puerto Rican Parade and Festival in the City of Trenton. Music is La Clave to our soul. La Clave literally translates to the key or the code. In music, it’s used as a temporal organization. For us having a live band (Jibaro con Tumbao) and a local DJ (DJ Coquí) is the key to a great time and the code to organizing our community and friends in one space for an amazing, fun evening. We are thrilled to dance, laugh, and share with each other community style (it’s a BYOB and BYOF). Our organization is focused on engaging the whole community and being inclusive while promoting our Puerto Rican culture.”

The Trenton Puerto Rican Community and Friends Organization is a Trenton-based organization committed to connecting the community with its roots and uplifting one another. The organization continues the legacy of El Desfile Puertorriqueño, whose parades and festivals have been a cornerstone in the Trenton community for decades. Now, you can help keep the tradition alive all while dancing the night away.
