The Big Easy, located on South Warren Street in Trenton, is among a list of restaurants in the downtown area which will be keeping its doors open to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This restaurant which specializes in Cajun, American, Caribbean, and Creole cuisine is doing great things for customers who are facing financial hardships. Already known for its take-out business, The Big Easy is now offering a delivery service (which was not offered prior to the pandemic) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to Trenton, Hamilton, Lawrence, and Ewing.
The Big Easy is committed to providing services to those who can pay their everyday prices and to those who are in need. Their belief is that no man or woman should go hungry during times when a hot meal can do more than just fill the stomach. Owner Olugbala Sababu is offering discounted meals for the homeless by providing 30 purchase order meals a day to individuals in need.
Like 1911 Smokehouse BBQ, The Big Easy is a part of the Trenton Eat Local Club which is doing its part as well to help bring hot meals to the community during these trying times.
Restaurants that have adjusted their normal operations to fit the needs of people during this hectic time have been recognized by Mayor Reed Gusciora. He believes that the businesses that have stayed open amidst the global pandemic should be honored for their bravery and commitment to their community.
Local businesses coming together for the greater good of the city will hopefully allow Trenton to become stronger as a community.
