UrbanPromise Trenton, having achieved ten years serving the Trenton community, invites area residents to be a part of its anniversary celebration to be held virtually on Saturday October 23rd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The celebration will include music, inspiring stories from those who have been a part of UrbanPromise Trenton’s programs, special guest speakers, and an online silent auction. All guests will receive a Charcuterie board to enjoy while taking part in this online party. Monies raised from the celebration will go directly to fund UrbanPromise Trenton’s programs.

Executive Director Melissa Mantz talked about how UrbanPromise Trenton has been serving the city since 2011. “Since we (UrbanPromise Trenton) held our first summer camp on West State Street in the summer of 2011, UrbanPromise has been serving hundreds of children in the Trenton area for ten years and we continue to be here for the community of Trenton.”

“In a city where the high school graduation rate is just 70%, the students in our StreetLeader Program have had a 100% graduation rate. We are grateful to have this opportunity to provide programs to motivated kids and teens in Trenton,” Mantz said.

Founded in 2011 and based in Trenton, UrbanPromise Trenton’s mission is to equip Trenton’s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and Christian leadership. UrbanPromise Trenton provides urban youth and teens with a chance to believe in and build, a positive future.

The organization currently hosts AfterSchool programs, Summer Camp, and StreetLeader programs in two locations in Trenton in addition to a youth college readiness program, outdoor experiential learning program, and college scholarship program.

“Funds raised at the anniversary celebration help support our programs,” said Board President Lynn Lorentz. “Our programs are offered free of charge, so funding from the community is absolutely necessary, and we are encouraged by those who have supported us for ten years.”
