On Friday, December 27th, the Old Barracks Museum invites you to a dreamy and delightful evening of song and dance at this year’s Colonial Ball. The festivities will begin at 7pm at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple, located at 100 Barrack St, Trenton, NJ 08608. This party of historic proportions welcomes guests to dance alongside the soldiers of the Battle of Trenton as they show off their 1700s-style moves. Your soundtrack for the evening will be scored by live musicians, whose 18th century musical styles will keep you moving all night long! Even the fiercest soldier needs some replenishment, so refreshments will be served throughout the evening to help keep you and your crew stay fueled on the dance floor.

While period dress is not required, it is most certainly encouraged! No matter how you decide to get decked out, however, all are welcome to take a step back in time and dance the night away, revolutionary-style.

The Colonial Ball is a highlight of this year’s jam-packed Patriots Week celebrations. Finally restored to its pre-pandemic glory, Patriots Week is a beloved community celebration which uplifts the Capital City’s revolutionary past. This year’s calendar of activities includes both new experiences as well as the return of beloved signature events and traditions, including historic tours, musket demonstrations, hands-on activities, and the return of the Battle of Trenton reenactment.

Each year from December 26th through December 31st, the City of Trenton is transformed into a relic of the Revolutionary War, offering residents and visitors from all over the opportunity to see our community as it may have been during the city’s earliest days. From Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River to the turning point of the American Revolution, Trenton continues to take center stage for its central role in the formation of our nation.
