As the 2023-2024 school year draws to a close, high schools seniors all throughout Mercer County are making some critical decisions regarding where they will take the next steps in their educational career. In the present era, there are more opportunities than ever to continue your education and lay the groundwork for a prosperous career. Whether you decide to go to a four-year institution, the trades, community college, or embark on any number of available paths, this time in a student’s life is an integral part in shaping their bright future ahead. For many students, community college is a wonderful way to ease into the college experience, figure out your major, and save some serious bucks along the way. And now, for Mercer County students, there’s even more incentive to consider their local community college.

If you or a loved one are a graduating student in the Mercer County region, you are invited to apply for the Mercer County Board of Commissioner’s 2024 Commissioners Scholarship. The Commissioners Scholarship was designed to encourage students to take advantage of Mercer County’s extensive community college resources, as well as ease the financial transition from high school to higher education. In order to qualify, applying students must:

  • Plan to attend Mercer County Community College on a full-term basis beginning in the upcoming Fall 2024 semester
  • Have and maintain at least a 2.8 GPA or higher
