On Sunday, May 12th, the Capital Philharmonic will be presenting a rousing performance of “Peter and the Wolf”. This exuberant afternoon of song will kick off at 3pm at the New Jersey State Museum Auditorium, located at 205 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08608. This special Mother’s Day performance is dedicated to mothers and families of all kinds, making this the perfect outing for the day’s celebrations. This performance marks the CPNJ’s first live performance of Peter and the Wolf, making this a momentous occasion for the orchestra and audience alike.
“Peter and the Wolf” is a delightful body of work composed by Serge Prokofiev. Full of fantasy and fun, this masterpiece perfectly highlights each of the various instruments in the orchestra, making this the perfect introduction to classical music for little listeners. Likewise, grownups are certain to embrace their inner child as they take in the sights and sounds of this whimsical performance. At the concert, the CPNJ will also be showcasing the talented winner of the Mary G. Robeling Youth Concerto Competition. The winner student will be accompanied by a full orchestra, marking a magical multi-generational performance.
