On Saturday, April 20th, the Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey will be performing their take on the avant garde and wildly captivating “Ballet Mécanique”. Originally written by “the bad boy of music”, George Antheil’s Ballet Mécanique features a one of a kind masterpiece scored for four pianos and eleven percussionists. This striking performance will be held at an equally unique venue, the Roebling Wireworks Factory, located at 675 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611. In addition to the brilliant musical mastery of the Capital Philharmonic, the performance will also be joined by members of the Trenton Circus Squad, whose breathtaking tricks and talents will score the evening’s unforgettable show.
Ballet Mécanique is a body of work which remains in a league of its own. Combining the subtle intricacies of classic performance with the grit of industrial elements, Ballet Mécanique interconnects these two worlds with tactful precision and flare.
