Astronomy on Tap is a growing network of professional astronomers and stargazers who like to grab a drink while learning a bit about the solar system. The organization is launching in Trenton this month on January 16th with the help of some Princeton University astronomers.

Astronomy on Tap is a series of world-wide events where professional astronomers give informal talks at a local bar on topics of broad interest in astronomy and astrophysics. Each event consists of two 10-15 minute talks, followed by questions and comments. Speakers will mingle with the audience between the two talks, and there will also be a trivia session with questions related to astronomy. At the end of the night, prizes will be handed to the winners!

Astro-trivia, prizes, and words from Princeton University’s Dr. Yusra Alsayyad and Melinda Soares-Furtado will all take place at Trenton Social on January 16 from 7 to 9 p.m.

“Watching the changing universe with the world’s biggest digital camera” – Dr. Yusra Alsayyad (Princeton University)

“Planets devoured by their hosts stars” – Melinda Soares-Furtado (Princeton University)

Admission is free and all ages are welcome! Trenton Social has beer, soft drinks, and food for purchase.”
