The weather is heating up, and so is the competition on the courts! If you’re looking for a fun way to stay active this summer, the City of Trenton’s basketball leagues are a sure-fire way to spend those hot summer days.

Residents of all ages are invited to be a part of the City of Trenton’s summer basketball leagues. From pee-wee players to the city’s “granny league”, all are welcome to join in on the action. The ten-week program, beginning on June 10th and concluding on August 31st, is a great opportunity to stay physically fit, spend some time in the sunshine, and make connections with other members of the community. The year’s leagues are broken into the following categories:

  • Pee Wee: ages 4-6
  • Elementary Ages, 7-9 and 9-11
  • Middle School grades 6th through 8th
  • High School grades 9th through 12th
  • Adults Unlimited 18+
  • Granny League 50+

Whether you’re a lifelong baller or wanting to try something new, Trentonians of all ages and stages of life are invited to get involved. No experience is necessary, so as long as you’re willing to learn, you’re welcome to play! Games and practices will be taking place at parks and courts throughout the City of Trenton. Coaches are also needed, so if you’re passionate about all things b-ball, your help is needed! If you’re interested in being a part of this year’s leagues, you can register online here: Register – Summer Basketball. Registration forms are also available by visiting City Hall. Participation is done on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited, so don’t delay in submitting your registration!

Participants of this year’s league will have the opportunity to enjoy a full season of play on the city’s newly renovated basketball courts. Our city’s parks, public spaces, and shared community resources are a meaningful source of connection in our community, so why not make them the absolutely best they can be? Well-maintained facilities with vibrant, inviting facades are a point of pride in the city, and are the perfect backdrop for some exciting summer days.

These leagues are presented by the city’s Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, and Culture. Through their initiatives and efforts, the department seeks to provide the residents of Trenton with meaningful opportunities for community engagement and improved quality of life for residents young and old. In addition to seasonal basketball leagues, the department is behind a whole host of fun for Trenton residents including swimming pools, recreation centers, move nights under the stars, and so much more. A world of fun is waiting at the fingertips of Trenton residents, so if you’d like to learn more, please visit their website here: Home – Dept. of Rec.
