Get ready to groove, because the Duelo de Acordeones is officially coming to the Capital City!
On Saturday, November 25th, you and your family are invited for an evening of music and merriment. Duelo de Acordeones will begin at 8pm at the CURE Insurance Arena, located at 81 Hamilton Ave, Trenton, NJ 08611. This is an all-ages event, so all are welcome to be a part of the fun. During the Duelo de Acordeones (Duel of Accordions), guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a number of world-famous acts, including:
- Pesado: Originally known as Grupo Pesado, this talented team of musicians made their debut in 1993 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Founded by frontman and accordionist Beto Zapata and Pepe Elizondo, the group came onto the scene with their premier album, Ayudame a Olvidar. Their subsequent album, Llego el Amor, would later go on to achieve gold status. With a number of hits over the decades, Pesado continues to bring their iconic sound to audiences worldwide.
- Los Invasores de Nuevo León: Founded in 1980, Los Invasores de Nuevo León is a Mexican norteño group. Critics regard the group as the greatest school of modern norteño groups, serving as one of the great references of this musical genre. Some of the group’s many hits include: “Laurita Garza”, “Clave 7”, “Ni Dada La Quiero”, “La Costumbre”, “Bajo Mil Llaves”, ” What a Woman’s Value”, “Aguanta Corazón”, “My New House”, “La Vieja Banca” and “A Mi Que Me Quedo”, amongst countless others.
- Los Cardenales de Nuevo León: This Grammy-winning team of artists are a norteño group hailing from Monterrey, Mexico. A deeply influential figure in world of music, their bajo sexto and accordion-driven sound has influenced hundreds of other groups in the genre. They emerged in 1982, getting their start playing social events. Their self-titled debut album was issued the same year, sending the group skyrocketing to success. The first album made enough airplay and regional popularity that the band was able to tour extensively in the region, catapulting the group to where they are today.
