Based on the music, influence, and brilliant minds of Trenton’s own Poor Righteous Teachers, “Ghetto Gods in Divineland” tells a stirring story of culture, community, and the fight for representation. This play was written by Richard Bradford and Anthony Martinez-Briggs, and directed under the guidance of Ozzie Jones. The cast features a stacked lineup of stellar performers, including Tasha Holmes (Gekiyla), Davon Cochran (Ameen), Carlo Campbell (Papi Shh), Craig Storrod (Ghetto God), and Alicia Thomas (Ghetto God). The Mill Hill Playhouse has been transformed into the world of Divineland, offering audiences an immersive experience from start to finish.

Based on the real-life experiences of generations of Trentonians, Divineland offer audiences a glimpse into the fight for Trenton’s future. Based on the real-life encounters of the members of Poor Righteous Teachers, this performance speaks to the lived experiences of countless residents of our community. As the residents of Divineland fight for representation and for the truth to be shared, these fearless fighters harnessed the power of technology, connection, and generational wisdom to make their way in the world.
