Henry J. Austin Health Center recently announced an exciting opportunity for talented local artists to contribute to the HJAHC’s mission of providing exceptional care and a welcoming environment for their pediatric patients. The Center is seeking vibrant mural designs that capture the diversity of Trenton, foster a sense of community, and inspire a bright future for children. This initiative aims to enhance the healing environment of their pediatric wings at HJAHC’s 321 N Warren Street location and 112 Ewing Street locations, creating a visually stimulating space for their young patients along the way.
Interested artists are encouraged to submit two original mural designs for consideration, showcasing their creativity and vision. It is important that the murals align with Henry J. Austin Health Center’s branding and colors, demonstrate their vision as the center of wellness, and inspire the Trenton community and beyond to attain the highest quality of life. The murals should be bright, positive, and engaging, capturing the attention and imagination of children.

- Artist’s portfolio showcasing previous relevant work, demonstrating their artistic ability and expertise.

Selection Process:
A committee of Henry J. Austin Health Center representatives, including the center’s Chiefs and Board Members, local community members, and art professionals will carefully review all submissions. The committee will choose three artists’ submissions to proceed to the final selection stage. From these three artists, 1-2 will be selected to create murals at our 321 N Warren Street and 112 Ewing Street locations. The chosen artists will be selected based on their artistic excellence, alignment with the given themes, and ability to create visually engaging murals suitable for the pediatric wings.
Compensation:
Selected artists will be offered a fair and competitive compensation package, commensurate with their experience and project scope. Detailed contract negotiations will take place with the chosen artists to ensure a mutually beneficial agreement.
Opportunity for Pediatric Patients and Local Trenton Children:
In a small yet meaningful way, Henry J. Austin Health Center would like to offer the opportunity for our pediatric patients and local Trenton children to be involved in the final murals. HJAHC will explore options to engage them, such as incorporating their artwork, ideas, or handprints within the murals, fostering a sense of ownership and pride among the children.
How to Submit:
All submissions must be sent via email to Neha Rauf [neha.rauf@henryjaustin.org] with the subject line “Pediatric Wing Mural Design Submission – [Artist Name].” Please include all required materials as outlined above.
