Kiwanis Celebrates Summer Camp Fund

It may be Winter, but for the Kiwanis Club of Trenton, it’s really time to think about Summer.  All are welcome to celebrate with the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 as the Kiwanis Club of Trenton presents $25,250 in grants supporting 2022 summer camp programs for Trenton youth.  The Hon. Brian M. Hughes, Mercer County Executive, will be on hand to help present the 2022 Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund Grants to nine local non-profits offering unique, immersive, educational and fun summer programs for our City’s kids – It’s a great way to kick off the New Year!

The program begins at 12:15 p.m. at Leonardo’s II Restaurant, 2021 Brunswick Pike Lawrence, NJ 08648. Lunch items will be available from Leonardo’s menu.

Founded in 1918, the Kiwanis Club’s programs have supported children’s services, community events and since 1955, the Times-Kiwanis Camp Fund, which has raised over $2 million for summer camp experiences for Trenton children.  The Camp Fund is made possible by hundreds of individual donors who contribute to support the program.  Trenton Kiwanians work throughout the year to raise funds as well.  Major donors are especially important, and this year once again include New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company, Christine’s Hope for Kids, the Trenton College Club, The Rose and Louis H. Linowitz Charitable Foundation and the Trenton Police Benevolent Association.

Representatives of grant recipients will be on hand to tell us about their anticipated 2022 summer programs.  Recipients of this year’s grants include the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Trenton Boys & Girls Club, CYO, Homefront, Trenton YMCA, Village Charter School, Fernbrook Farms and the Community Action Service Center (RISE).
