There is nothing quite like an evening spent gazing up at the stars. Under the pale flicker of the moonlight, our minds can easily get lost as we dream about what lies beyond our universe. There is much to be learned from an evening under the night sky, from the names of the constellations to the ages of the stars. Whether you’re an amateur or an astronomer, there’s no denying what a treat it is to keep your eyes on the sky. If you want to learn more about the ins and outs of our galaxy, the New Jersey State Museum has you covered at their upcoming star talk and observation.
On Friday, October 6th, guests from all over the Garden State are invited to the New Jersey State Museum for an evening of observation and education. This free event is open to stargazers of all ages, so be sure to bring along the whole family for an evening of fun. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the festivities will kick off at 7 p.m. Guests will want to arrive at the New Jersey State Museum’s Planetarium at 205 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08608.
After activities in the Planetarium are completed, the fun doesn’t stop there – it’s time to hit the road! Guests can enjoy a star observation with guidance from the Amateur Astronomy Association of Princeton. The word will occur in Washington’s Crossing, about a 20-minute drive up the road. In the case of inclement weather, guests will have the opportunity to hang behind at the Planetarium and enjoy a free showing of Áróra, one of the NJSM’s fascinating Planetarium programs.

Offering programming in both English and Spanish, the Planetarium provides families with an immersive, affordable opportunity to learn more about our galaxy.
