Attention all parents and guardians of little ones in the Capital City! The New Jersey State Museum is once again opening its doors for the Small Explorers program, and you and your little learner are invited to be a part of the fun.

On Saturday, September 9th, you are invited to join the NJ State Museum for a “Small Explorers” open house. This event invites Trenton families with children ages 0 to 5 to come explore and see what the Small Explorers program is all about. Whether you are new to the program or are a continuing member, all are welcome to be a part of the day’s festivities. Over the course of the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to mingle with other families, enjoy a whole host of activities and giveaways, and get a glimpse inside this marvelous program. The open house will be held from 11am to 2pm at the NJSM campus, located at 205 West State Street, Trenton, NJ 08608.

Over the course of the afternoon, these young guests will have the opportunity to enter the fascinating world of dinosaurs. The day’s activities will include a story time, some dinosaur-themed games, and a chance to get up close and personal with the museum’s own collection of dinosaurs and fossils. These Saturday sessions allow children to engage with art, culture, and history, all the while learning in a fun-filled setting.

The Small Explorers program takes place on the second Saturday of each month beginning in October and concluding in June. Each session is about 45 minutes long, and all events take place on the grounds of the New Jersey State Museum. In past events, Small Explorers has covered a vast array of fascinating topics including constellations, dance, starry skies, and more. Whether you are parent to a little STEM star or a budding artist, all young learners are invited to be a part of this one of a kind program. No doubt fostering a love for learning in the years to come, the Small Explorers program is a wonderful way to connect blossoming minds with the incredible world around them.
