The Small Business Mentorship Initiative is seeking entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Trenton area who are interested in receiving mentorship. SBMI is an organization devoted to developing and fostering the next generation of business owners. They seek to provide participants with meaningful mentorship and education to gain the hands-on skills needed to thrive as a business owner. Their initiatives place a special emphasis on uplifting urban communities and fighting for economic development in these regions. Whether you’re looking to make your startup more profitable, hone your business-savvy skills, or become a more impactful leader, all of these questions and more will be addressed throughout your time with SBMI.
The Small Business Mentorship Initiative is an entirely free program. The next session will be commencing in the spring of 2023. If you’re interested in applying to receive one-on-one mentorship, applications are available here: SBMI – Apply. The application requires basic details including your business’s location and revenue, length of operation, and industry type. In addition to these details, applicants will also be asked to clarify which specific areas of business they are most in need of assistance. Upon completion, the SBMI will assess your application and pair you with a mentor according to your business’s specific wants and needs. The SBMI boasts an incredible panel of executives, entrepreneurs, and fellow business owners who are available to you to share their secrets to success.
Students of previous sessions have had great things to say regarding their experience with the program. Per Yuriko Bullock of Philadelphia’s Old School Skateboard Company, “My focus was on marketing; it was very informative and valuable especially considering I didn’t have to put out all this money for a consultant for the information. My mentor was very patient and knowledgeable, he gave me clear step by step actionable items to go back and implement.” She also went on to say “Since the mentorship, my company opened a retail store in Ewing. I was able to apply the same techniques I learned in the program to the retail store. I would recommend any small business to take advantage of the program. ”

The ideal business for this program is a small enterprise who is ranging anywhere from $5,000 to $250,000 in profits annually.
