Summertime is finally here, school is out, and excitement is in the air. Many families take advantage of the summer season to hit the road and go on an adventure, but did you know there was plenty of fun for kids and teens right here in Capital City? With summertime programs full of laughter and learning on deck, Trenton’s youth have much to anticipate for the unforgettable summer ahead.

The City of Trenton recently announced the launch of its youth and teen summer programs for the 2023 season. These free and fun programs invite kids to put down their phones, get out in the community, and continue to learn in an engaging, exciting way. All programs will run from June 26th through August 25th, Monday through Friday. Read on to learn more about each of these exciting opportunities:

Summer Youth Program: Children ages 6-12 are invited to enroll for a fun-filled summer in the Capital City. Some of the many activities attendees can look forward to include swimming lessons, field trips, arts and crafts, literacy enrichment, and more. There are two available slots for registration: 3-6 pm, which includes dinner, and 3-8 pm, which will consist of a snack and dinner. Sessions will be held at the Sam Naples Community Center (611 Chestnut Ave, Trenton, NJ 08611) and the Ike Williams Community Center (238 Clay St., Trenton, NJ 08611). Summer Teen Program: For our community’s older kids and teens, not to fret – there’s plenty to look forward to for you as well! Trenton’s Summer Teen Program is the perfect way for youth ages 13-18 to get active and out in the community this season. Some of the program’s featured activities include photography instruction, financial literacy, an open gym, and much more. Teens will have a blast if they want to get creative, increase their fitness, or spend time with their peers. This program will be offered from 6-8 pm at the Sam Naples Community Center.
