The weather is heating up, and summer is just around the corner. As the school year winds down, parents and children across the city are scratching their heads wondering what to do with the upcoming season. If you’re looking to have an ace of a summer, look no further than the NJTL of Trenton’s 2023 tennis summer camp.
If your child is ready to swing into the game of tennis, NJTL’s summer camps are the perfect place to start. For just $10 a week, your child can enjoy six weeks of action-packed fun and excitement. Financial aid opportunities as well as payment plans are available. The camp will begin on June 26th and will conclude on August 3rd with a celebratory summer picnic extravaganza to celebrate the participants and how far they’ve come. Camp will be held Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 11:30am, with sessions being held at Cadwalader Park as well as Villa Park. The camp will be broken up by age into the following sessions:
- ACE / Tennis Program (3rd-6th graders): This exciting summer camp gives youngsters the opportunity to enjoy an academic experience in an entertaining setting. From STEM studies to tennis lessons, this camp will cover all the bases. Students will have the opportunity to learn math, geometry, and reading skills, as well as learn more about the fascinating life of Arthur Ashe. Each day, students will engage in academics, receive a tennis lesson, participate in a second sports session, and even be part of a play production class! Keeping the mind and body active is essential during the summer, and there’s no doubt that this experience will enrich each participant.
- Tennis Program (ages 8-18 yrs.): This camp experience is for the student looking for a purely tennis-focused experience. Participants will have the opportunity to learn lessons for on and off the court, simultaneously improving their tennis skills alongside powerful character development. This is a rigorous experience, providing USTA Net Generation tennis for younger players and intense training for beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels. Coaches will work alongside students to teach the tennis fundamentals, including technique, movement, rallying the ball, and how to keep score, as well as tactical development. If your child is ready to take their tennis skills to the next level, this is the place to be!
Since its founding in 1975, the NJTL of Trenton has been providing world-class tennis training to students in the region. In addition to invaluable athletic and personal development, these camps also offer students a number of exciting opportunities to connect with the community , including field trips, Regional Rallies, Junior Team Tennis, US Open Arthur Ashe Kids Day trip, World Team Tennis matches, and more. City and local organizations also incorporate this curriculum into their own programming, making the experience more accessible to children all throughout the community.
