Springtime is a beautiful season for new beginnings. And when it comes to setting off on a fresh start, it is often the smallest things that make the biggest difference. While basic necessities are often something most of us take for granted, for vulnerable populations without access to these vital resources, these items can make all the difference in overall quality of life. If you’re looking to serve your community and uplift others during this inspiring season, there’s no better place to start than taking some time to contribute to TASK’s Spring Wishlist.

The Trenton Area Soup Kitchen recently released their list of must-need items for the springtime season. With an especially rainy season so far, the folks at TASK are in particular need of protective gear which can be used to keep our community members dry and safe throughout any conditions. Some of the most needed items at the moment include:

  • Ponchos and umbrellas
  • T-shirts, all sizes (must be new, no logos or writing)
  • Gallon-sized Ziploc bags
  • Baby wipes and showerless body wipes

You can drop off any donated supplies at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen headquarters, located at 72 1/2 Escher St, Trenton, NJ 08609. Items can be dropped off at the back door on Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, as well as on Fridays from 8:30am to 1:30pm. No appointment is necessary for donations. Please do note that if you plan on donating, all items must be new, as TASK is unable to accept used items at this time.

Since their founding in 1982, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen has played an invaluable role in tackling hunger and inspiring hope for residents of the Greater Trenton region. What started off as a humble ministry offering soup and butter sandwiches has evolved into a massive undertaking, now serving up over 9,000 meals each week at over 36 locations throughout the community. Far more than just food, however, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen also provides patrons with a number of life-changing services, including career training, educational services, case management, creative arts workshops, and more.
