The Trenton Education Dance Institute (TEDI), a program of The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey, was awarded a $32,500 grant from The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation for its work to advance equity in arts education and awarded a $10,000 grant from CAPTRUST Community Foundation, as part of their CCF Day of Giving. 

“We are excited and grateful about this support from The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation,” said Kayla James, TEDI’s Artistic Director. “In addition to expanding our programming, we have worked hard to create a stronger community within the school as well as disability awareness, improved accessibility access, and purposeful outreach through the formation of TEDI’s ADA Board.”

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey has been serving New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1894, covering many needs across both states. Programs include adoption and foster services, Head Start/Early Head Start programs, in-school, and after-school programs and activities, education for childcare, nutrition, parenting, finding and acquiring resources and support, counseling, and more. CAPTRUST Community Foundation has been a 501(c)3 organization since 2007, formed and run entirely by employees of CAPTRUST Financial Advisors. In 2020, CCF donated over 1 million dollars in grants, and employees donated matching funds. With a mission statement that contains a ‘commitment to service beyond expectation,’ CAPTRUST is dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the CAPTRUST Community Foundation. 

“I want to thank CAPTRUST Community Foundation for all the good this donation will do for our at-risk infants, children, and youth,” said Donna Pressma, President and CEO of CHSofNJ. “Our mission is saving children’s lives and building healthy families, and your generous donation will do just that.” The grant funds were given to Donna Pressma by Paul Schaffer, Senior Vice President/ Financial Advisor of CAPTRUST in Doylestown, PA, on Tuesday, September 13th, in the CAPTRUST office.

On Thursday, September 29th, from 11 am-2 pm at their headquarters at 635 South Clinton Avenue, The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey will be holding a Kinship Caregiver Appreciation Event.
