You must have also lived in the State of New Jersey for at least six months prior if you wish to apply for S.R.A.P. assistance. Once you submit the pre-application, you can check the waitlist at https://www.WaitlistCheck.com/NJ559. You can also use the link provided to submit a pre-application if you haven’t already.

As you wait to see if you have been selected, you must also have met the income limits for the county you currently live in. The chart itself goes up to eight (8) household members, but if you have more than eight in your home, call (609)-292-4080 and select option 9 for assistance to determine the maximum income limits for your household. An understanding of the chart is if you have four (4) current residents in your household, you cannot exceed more that $47,675 for income in Mercer. But, if you have the same amount of members and live in Atlantic County, the income will be capped at $34,925.

You will also be required to provide social security numbers, names, birthdates, and income information for all individuals. If you or anyone in your household is disabled or homeless, you must provide verification of them being disabled or homeless. If your pre-application was successfully submitted, you will receive a receipt. Placing you in the Active Status lottery, but after the lottery is finish and you have not been selected, your status would go inactive.

There shall also be background checks for criminal records. As well to background checks, providing social security numbers, and waiting to see if you have also been accepted, The Department of Community Affairs will be extending reasonable accommodations to the disabled and homeless. Also taking into consideration of the disabled and the needs of the said individual(s).

The deadline for the open enrollment period for the State Rental Assistance Program will end Friday, July 22th, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
