On Friday, June 7 at 2 p.m., Foundation Collegiate Academy Charter School (FCA) hosted their Senior Signing Day ceremony. This celebratory event highlighted the graduating high school senior class as they proudly announced their selected colleges and career plans to their friends, family, and greater Trenton community.

“Senior Signing Day is a very special event for our graduating seniors as they publicly celebrate their accomplishments along with their peers, faculty, staff, parents and the community,” said Foundation Collegiate Academy Principal Melissa Campbell. “It’s an important moment and we’re incredibly proud of our graduates.”

Through working hard to maintain strong grades, the Class of 2019 has collectively earned an FCA record-breaking $13.1M in academic scholarships and grants. Adding to this impressive number were winners of additional scholarships not included in the $13.1M total, announced as a surprise near the end of the ceremony. Winners included:

  • Ramses Chan Estrada: The Laura and Louis Widman Literacy Achievement Award
  • Alayna Edouard: Grant Chapel AME Memorial Scholarship
  • Elijah Edu: Ronald C. Brady Scholarship
  • Kimberly Godinez: Jonathan D. Krist Award
  • Ciani Nazario: The American Red Cross High School Scholarship
  • Carla Perez: Comcast Leaders & Achievers Scholarship

The FCA Class of 2019’s future plans are as diverse as the graduates themselves, representing a wide range of interests, talents and skills. Students will be pursuing careers in education, nursing, special education, criminal justice, photography, medicine, real estate, aviation, fire science, sociology, anthropology, speech therapy, health and exercise science, early childhood education, social work, computer engineering, biology, mechanical engineering, filmmaking, interactive multimedia, law, architecture and environmental design, biomedical engineering, psychology, mathematics, English, history, business, criminology, and human resources.

In the fall, FCA graduates will be heading to a variety of colleges, including:
