Did you know that Trenton-born producer, songwriter, bassist, Adam Blackstone was singer Rihanna’s musical director for her Oscars 2023 performance?
You still have time to practice your own Oscar acceptance speech (I’ve been practicing mine in front of my mirror since I was ten years old!) in time for this year’s broadcast on March 10th.
Before the ceremony, get a preview of the nominated short films at the Trenton Film Society’s 2024 Oscar Shorts Film Festival on March 8th and 9th at Passage Theatre at Mill Hill Playhouse, 205 East Front Street in Trenton.
The Friday March 8th Documentary Shorts program includes directors John Hoffman and Christine Turner’s, “The Barber of Little Rock”-a profile of Arlo Washington, the founder of the nonprofit community bank, People Trust and how, as the only bank within a ten-mile radius, it addresses the effects of generational poverty and our country’s racial economic gap.
Friday’s line up of films begin at 6:30 p.m. with a $20 admission that includes complimentary packaged snacks at intermission.
Saturday March 9th’s program includes:
- Live action movies at 1:00 p.m.
- Animated shorts at 3:30 p.m. and
- Live action shorts at 6:00 p.m.
Tickets for each category are $12.
For your convenience, there are two Saturday double feature options.
Option 1: Live action AND animated shorts at 1:00 p.m. with a $20 admission, or
Option 2: Animated feature AND live action shorts at 3:30 p.m. with a $20 admission.
